BLACK JACK

Graphics and social posts from my current role of Communication Specialist for the city of Black Jack, Missouri.

April 2026 Election

In an effort to increase awareness and possibly voter turnout for the April 2026 municipal election, I created this Instagram/Facebook post to outline all the important information for residents. I kept it fairly simple, but mostly used a red, white, and blue color scheme to fit the election theme.

Tree Limb Pickup Post

To help inform residents of the pending tree limb pickups, I created these Instagram slides outlining all the basic information about the pickups, and helpful resources if they had any further questions. I blurred photos from prior tree limb pickups for the background, while using green and brown colors to match the subject matter of the post.

Open House Flyer

Black Jack hosted an open house at City Hall with the Mayor, city staff, and other elected officials. I highlighted the mayor’s involvement in the event to encourage people to come, as well as show that he is willing and ready to engage with residents. I also continued using the traditional city color scheme to maintain consistency.

Late Open Notice

To accommodate the open house event, City Hall opened two hours late on March 26. I posted this the day before to inform residents of the adjusted hours, as well as provide an additional reminder for the event. I used a simple picture of City Hall that I took, as well as the city colors to stay within existing branding.

Scam Alert!

When some residents started receiving suspicious calls pretending to be City Hall, I immediately recognized this as an example of phone number “spoofing” and quickly put this graphic up on social media to warn residents and instruct them to inform their loved ones.

City Council Meetings

I created this graphic to post on social media before every City Council meeting, in an effort to increase awareness and turnout for these important civic sessions. I utilized the city’s color scheme and logo, as well as a blurred picture I took of the council chambers.

BHM Movie Night Poster

Black Jack’s Senior Citizen Committee hosted movie nights every Friday in Black History Month. I designed this poster for the events using traditional BHM colors, while also prioritizing visibility and clarity of information.
